Hi guys,
Staying in Lisbon continues to be a great experience.
Sure, the asymmetries and problems of big urban centers are starting to be more visible, but the light, the social and culinary habits still make Lisbon a very special and privileged place.
Reminding that half of the class are engineers from IST I can’t refrain from blogging about the “Arraial do IST”.
Last weekend, after 3 years of absence, the party once more took place at the campus, in the middle of Lisbon. The bands weren´t very high profile, but delivered a great sound and set a great mood.
It was interesting watching the new generation of engineering students. A much higher percentage of girls, much less alcohol driven and a much more relaxed posture. Also completely at ease with the new paradigm of instant and almost global electronic communications and resonating more to being EU citizens than Portuguese.
With a habilitations system all equal in EU, the possibility to start working with 3 years studies and the possibility to get internships almost everywhere in Europe, they will certainly make the future more interesting.
